The Brush Poppers 4-H Club will hold a publicity day to raise 4-H awareness on Saturday Feb.9 in front of Tractor Supply in Bastrop. The youth will have petting zoo animals available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., including goats, miniature animals and a foal (baby horse). Baked foods will be available while they last.

The Brush Poppers is Bastrop County’s 4-H horse club. 4-H is open to youth from 3rd grade or age 9, through high school. There is a $25 fee to join 4-H.

Youth in the Brush Poppers do projects including foods, veterinary science, dogs, horses, goats, steers and chickens. They are planning an A&M Horsemanship Clinic in June. For more information about 4-H, contact club manager Dot Files at 512-303-6417 or co-manager Melissa Brown at 512-303-3319.
